Funkytonk Records

We have begun filming scenes for the skit show that will debut on tonktv.com. I am hoping to have it premiere as early as this spring, like around May. The show, which has yet to be named, includes several recognizable faces and locations from the Tri-Cities. Currently we are working on skits for episode 1. Would you like to get involved and help out? Contact me! We are filming every week now, and need props, costumes, locations and extras.

Back in the day we used to gather around in large groups and watch people breakdance. Typically there was a ghettoblaster somewhere in the vicinity and a box of wheat thins that would be passed around the group.

Last night I attended a Holiday Party that was organized by Chrissa and Ricardo, and hosted by Cameron and Katy @ the Blue House in Kennewick. It was great. Lots of yummy foods, and a white elephant ornament exchange. Here is a picture of Ricardo holding up the prized ornament of the night (it was maxed out on steals!!) Some of you may recognize the picture of a young Ben Santillan. Kim Powelson was the lucky receiver of the 1 of 1 2011 Funkytonk Records hand painted ornament. This is one of a kind! The street value has got to be astronomical. Will this be an annual event in the Tri – Cities?!?!? We can only hope……… For those who missed out, Kennewick Coffee Co. is hosting a Holiday concert event this Monday evening (DEC 19th). Haus Cats will be there.

Modest Mouse, Crown, David Bazan, Fugazi, Crystal Skulls, Two Gallants, Down Trodden Foreign Family Band, Solar Shade, and The Seaworthies. All of these bands have a video up in the Funkytonk Multi Media Library of a select song from a live show somewhere in the Tri Cities. You can’t believe it???? Check it out for yourself.! The library now has video footage spanning from 1988 – 2011 of underground music in the Tri-Cities. 23 years folks lol, lmao, rofl, wtf, aykm, imo, mf’n, brb, btw….

Hey all, Halloween is coming up and rumor is there will be a fun costume/band show at the Stove Top! The Pets/ French Quarter shows in Olympia and Kennewick were very fun. Thanks for everybody who made it so great.

Pets October 9th 2011 in the basement of the ABC House Olympia WA

Pets will be working on recording a few more songs this fall. A 7″ vinyl single will be released before the end of this year featuring 2 songs off the Tasty Treats ep. Both 7″ and the entire ep download will be available soon in the store.

I am very excited to announce that Stephen Steinbrink of French Quarter will be releasing a 7″ featuring a few songs off the Rennet recording. The 7″ will be accompanied with a complete download of the Rennet recording, all of which should be ready and in the store sometime in Dec/Jan. We just finished filming the video for the song New and Blue Starling. Its looking great, can’t wait to share it with everyone.

I travelled over to Whidbey Island and met up with Ashley and Eli to film a video for Ashley’s upcoming Funkytonk Release. The weather was absolutely perfect and we really captured some great shots. Very excited to share it with everybody. Started editing this week, it’s a long process but I should have it completed soon. As for the release it will be a 7″ single with some bonus material that will be downloadable with the record.

Hey folks, a few videos have been added to the library, some old Fingers stuff from the 90′s and some Lake, Slow Dance Fast, Car Scars, and Travis Bickle videos. More to come soon, inlcuding a comedy show that I am creating, and some non-funkytonk related bands that I have some good footage of when they played shows here in the Tri-Cities, and eventually the entire Funkytonk catalog available for streaming.
